Funky Fresh-7/22/09
I sat in as host for Funky Fresh, in which the regular DJ, DJ Slick, had work to do and couldn't plan the show. He intended to just play Atmosphere's "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold", but I took over about 21 minutes in. I tried to fit into the mold of the show, and play some funky hip hop.

Michael Jackson
It's hard to believe it, but the King of Pop is dead. It's hard on anyone who came of age before the 90's to fathom it, as Michael Jackson was a huge influence on the 80's and pop culture in general.
As you may have heard by now, there's been a huge jump in the sales of MJ's back catalog. He's taking the top 8 spots in the singles chart, and the top spots in the older records chart. People love them some Michael Jackson, even if it took his death for them to realize it.
Something that's been bothering me, though, is the complete absence of Michael Jackson's videos on MTV. I used to love MTV, and still love music videos when I can find them. MTV has totally let me down on that front.
But Michael Jackson and MTV came of age together at the same time. Their relationship was mutually beneficial, to put it mildly. You would think that MTV would take advantage of this situation and play all of Jackson's videos or something.
But no. Instead we get Paris Hilton's BFF and other crappy shows.
We should all send letters to MTV to tell them to get their act together.
